Moncur Hits Annual Tigers Event Out of the Park
Nothing screams summer and team building like a Detroit Tigers game. The Moncur team closed up shop early to take us all out to the ball game.

Digital advertising and branding are a lot like baseball. Everyone has their own positions, but ultimately, we all must play as a team. From leadership all the way down to the bat boy, everyone on the team must communicate, execute, practice, and deal with the occasional foul ball.
Last Wednesday, September 14, 2018, Team Moncur drove from our Southfield headquarters to downtown Detroit for the company’s annual Tigers baseball game outing at Comerica Park. Everyone met inside the park on the second floor where all the action happens, or shall we say, drinking happens. (And laughing.)

Turns out, none of our spirit animals are a tiger, after all (we all played an online spirit animal quiz while watching the game) But we sure had fun watching the Tigers go head-to-head against the Houston Astros.
We lucked out with weather this year — beautiful sunny, blue skies set the backdrop for our day on the town. Everyone sported their Detroit Tigers gear and ordered a beer to toast to Moncur’s new and old team members. We have a lot to celebrate this year, including some big client wins, and the company’s overall growth.

While the Tigers might not have scored a win this time, we realized that our employees are a lot like a baseball team. Each of us plays a key role on team Moncur and every single one of us brings a unique skillset to the table, but we all need to collaborate and work together in order to meet deadlines and exceed the expectations of our clients.
Iconic baseball player, Babe Ruth, says it best: “The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime.”

As colleagues, we all spend just as much, if not more, time together than we do with even our closest friends and family; so, while we already know each other quite well, this outing wasn’t about the Tigers winning, it was really about bringing us together as a team.
As a matter of fact, I think I can vouch for everyone when I say that this experience brought out the kid side in all of us (in the best way possible), and allowed us to get closer than ever.
Thanks, David and Ken for the awesome experience — we look forward to the next Moncur team outing!
